Loutze
The itinerary starts from Tourbillon, in the upper part of the Ovronnaz resort. A groomed trail leads to Patiers, a small hamlet above Les Mayens-de-Chamoson. It intersects the road to Loutze, which you can follow to reach the Loutze buvette with its welcoming terrace where you can have a relaxing break and enjoy Valais specialities. The view of the Haut de Cry and the Rhône plain is captivating. Return following the same route, or, at the Croix de Loutze, you can take the smaller Charbonnière track, which leads you to Patiers. From there, follow the cross-country ski trail back to Tourbillon.
Snowshoes: Two specially marked snowshoe trails lead to la Loutze. The first one climbs straight up from Tourbillon, starting just behind the Tourbillon shelter. The trail runs across the forest to the Loutse Colony in Proparon and then uphill to the Loutze buvette. The second snowshoe trail is between Croix de Loutze and the buvette, running to the northeast. It is the continuation of the Charbonnière path that originates in Patiers.
