Von der Pforzheimer Hütte ist das Gipfelkreuz der Rotgrubenspitze gut zu sehen. Wir nehmen zunächst den einfach Bergpfad Richtung Gleirschjöchel. Am Walfeskar biegen wir Richtung Zwieselbacher Rosskogel ab. Nach dem Aufstieg auf dem Walfeskar steigen wir in den Westgrad der Rotgrubenspitze ein. Über leichte bis mäßige Kletterein im 3. Grad folgen wir den dezenten Markierungen (Rote Punkte), in denen Bohrhaken zur Absicherung angebracht sind. Achtung: Das plattige Gestein kann tückisch sein. Nach der Kletterei ist der Gipfel erreicht. Den gliech Weg nehmen wir zurück zur Pforzheimer Hütte.
