The loop begins on the village square of Saas-Grund. After crossing the bridge in the direction of Saas-Fee, the route turns north on various paths, first downstream along the brook, then through a larch forest to the Bidermatten hamlet. Here the first descent starts along a little-used country lane to the round church of Saas-Balen. Then it's time to start pedalling as the climb along the river to Saas-Almagell begins. In Bidermatten, you cross the lower part of the hamlet and the meadows. In Saas-Almagell, a small lake and various restaurants invite you for a well-deserved break. Finally, the route leaves the valley at the «Biele» along the asphalt road on the left. This last ascent is rewarded with a rapid descent over the hill and dale to the «Unner de Bodme» hamlet. From here, the trail returns to the starting point in Saas-Grund.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the village square in Saas-Grund, bikers follow the road towards Saas-Fee. After the bridge, the trail turns north and follows the Vispa to the crossroads. It climbs west on the singletrail through the forest to the Bidermatten hamlet of which it crosses the upper part. At the second junction, the trail turns north, crosses the car park and continues north at the next corner. It then descends to the round church of Saas-Balen, leads to the cantonal road and follows the brook upstream on the left to the Bidermatten bridge. Before the car park, the trail descends to the south, through the hamlet and meadows to the brook, which bikers follow upstream to Saas-Almagell.

From Saas-Almagell, the trail follows the asphalt path of the Webstube downstream of the brook. At the junction before the forest, the trail climbs to the left and crosses the «Biele». After the descent, the trail passes through the «Unner de Bodme» hamlet and follows the brook down to the starting point in Saas-Grund.
