Step by step, discover the mountain pastures and flora and fauna of Torgon on a trail set right in the very heart of nature.
Distance 13.6 km
From Torgon, a small village on the Valais side of the Chablais region perched at an altitude of just over 1,000 metres, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a variety of landscapes over the course of this circular hiking trail along mountain pastures. Throughout your hike, you’ll be constantly surrounded by rich landscapes and diverse flora and fauna – and, with a bit of luck, you might even spot the region’s emblematic wild mouflon sheep. Your efforts will be rewarded once you reach the summit of this beautiful climb, with spectacular views of Lake Geneva, the Vaud and Valais Alps, the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc awaiting you. Once you arrive in Fracette, grab a bite to eat at the friendly snack bar, open in summer, before tackling the challenging path back to the start, which takes you across the suspension bridge.
Stop for a bite at La Bourri, a friendly mountain restaurant: you won’t be disappointed!

For mountain hikes:
Take extra care protecting yourself from the sun at altitude. UV radiation can be exceptionally strong, even in cloudy weather.

Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains, without warning. Appropriate clothing is therefore essential, along with adequate supplies of food and water. In uncertain weather, turn back in good time.
For high-altitude hikes:
Inform others of the route you plan to take. Whenever possible, avoid going alone.
Do not venture onto glaciers without a mountain guide.
Take note of the warning signs that point out the constant danger in river beds and along watercourses below dams and reservoirs: water levels may rise rapidly without warning.
