This walk is a chance to immerse yourself in the life of the mayens (small alpine chalets), transhumance and rural life in the mountains.

Montez en télécabine jusqu'à la gare d'arrivée à Cry d'Er. Depuis cet endroit, le randonneur emprunte le Sentier des Marmottes jusqu'à la Cabane des Violettes, puis la piste La Nationale en passant à travers les prés jusqu'à l'alpage de Pépinet. La balade continue en passant sous le Mont-Lachaux, puis en direction de l'alpage de Corbyre. La descente s'effectue entre alpage et forêt jusqu'à Crans.

Public-transport-friendly

The resort of Crans-Montana is easily accessible from Sierre station with the SMC bus company and from Sion station with the bus company CarPostal.

 

The free shuttle buses of the SMC bus company serve the whole resort of Crans-Montana from mid-June until October. The nearest stop to the start of this hike is: Crans Téléphérique.

 

You then need to take the cablecars to reach the starting point of your hike. 

Getting there

To reach Crans-Montana by car, take the exit of the A9 motorway (Rhône motorway) called "Sierre ouest". At the motorway exit, turn left and follow the signs for "Sierre". At the roundabout, turn right. Continue for 500 metres, then at the entrance to Sierre, turn left following the signs for "Crans-Montana". The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Crans-Montana, follow the signposts to reach the cablecars and the carpark of Crans-Cry d'Er.

CHF 1.50/h (max. CHF 15.-/24h). Please note that the car park ticket machines do not accept debit or credit cards!

 

Your weekly, monthly or annual car park pass does not include the outdoor car park.
