Brig - Grindji - Ried-Brig - Brig
From Brig you walk along the Saltina - past the Geschina open-air swimming pool and the large camping site - to the Saltina bridge. A stone road leads along the river to the Grindji power station. The only strenuous stretch is the steep ascent to Ried-Brig, up to the "Bleiken". After a short break you hike on the high plateau with a view over the Rhone valley towards the village. Past the old village centre you turn into the road to the "Bachi" at the Hotel Simplon in Ried-Brig. As the name suggests, there is a beautiful drive along a small stream through woods and meadows. On the old Simplonstrasse, also called Burgschaft, along and past the beautiful Stockalperschloss you arrive back in Brig. This hike is especially recommended in spring and autumn.
