The magnificent Stockalper's Castle was built between 1658 and 1678 by Kaspar Jodok von Stockalper from Thurm. He was a man of exceptional talents: intelligent, courageous, open-minded and extremely active. He put the whole castle under the protection of the Three Wise Men and called the towers Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar. An outstanding baroque garden with rosaries, fountains, and vineyards was created in 2001.
