Auf der Alpe Devero liegt die Hütte von CAI Sesto Calende.
Die Hütte:
Die Capanna Castiglioni liegt im äußersten Norden der Alpe Devero Ebene.
Die Schutzhütte vom italienischen Alpenverein CAI - Sektion CAI Gallarate - Die Hütte ist der Ausgangspunkt für alle Wanderungen,Bergfahrten die im Bereich der Alpe Devero möglich sind.
Ausgestattet mit Betten, Serviceleistungen, einem Restaurant und einer Bar ist dies der wichtigste Erfrischungs- und Ruhebereich der Alpe.
Geschichte
Die Hütte des CAI auf der Alpe Devero ist dem Andenken von Enrico Castiglioni gewidmet, einem Bergführer, der im Alter von 24 Jahren auf dem Poncione di Gamma gestorben ist.
Die Zuflucht wurde am 4. August 1946 von den CAI-Mitgliedern von Gallarate eröffnet, die eine ehemalige Guardia di Finanza-Kaserne restaurierten. Zu dieser Zeit wurde das "Rifugio Gallarate" von Freiwilligen betrieben. 1971 wurde die Hütte von der Sektion von Gallarate kaufte und bewirtschaftet.
Im Laufe der Jahre gab es zahlreiche Manager, die sich bei Capanna Castiglioni abwechselten, bis 1989 die Geschäftsführung von Isabella Benedet und Tonino Galmarini (bereits von 1961 bis 1969 Depotbank) übernommen wurde, an die 1995 sein Sohn Michele mit seiner wechselte Begleiterin Barbara Bressanin, aktuelle Manager der Capanna.
