Schneeschuhwanderung von La Forclaz zu den Mayens de Bréona

Die Panoramawanderung beginnt hoch oben und geht noch höher hinaus – mit frischer Bergluft, belebendem Training und spannenden Aussichten. Der Ausgangspunkt liegt auf 1725 Metern im Dorf La Forclaz, das auf einem Sonnenplateau 300 Meter über dem Val d’Hérens thront.
Von hier aus führt der Rundweg das östliche der beiden Täler hinauf, die weiter unten zusammenlaufen. Nach einem sanften Anstieg über offenes Gelände wird der Weg steiler und erreicht die schneebedeckten Weiden der Mayens de Bréona – mit 2087 Metern der höchste Punkt der Wanderung.
Der Panoramablick auf das Tal und die Krone aus spektakulären, mit glitzernden Gletschern geschmückten Gipfeln ist atemberaubend. Das von der Dent Blanche (4357 Meter) überragte Tal ist eines der wildesten der Region und verspricht ein Erlebnis wohltuender Ruhe.
Anschliessend führt der Weg etwas höher gelegen durch duftende Kiefernwälder wieder hinunter ins Tal und schliesslich über weisse Schneefelder hinab und zurück nach La Forclaz.

- Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains, without warning. Appropriate clothing is therefore essential, along with adequate supplies of food and water. In uncertain weather, turn back in good time.
- Do not venture onto glaciers without a mountain guide.
- Take note of the warning signs that point out the constant danger, especially the danger of avalanches.
